Ryan Blaney Wins First Career Pole by a Whisker

Improving in each round of knockout qualifying in relation to other cars, Ryan Blaney won the pole for Saturday night’s Go Bowling 400 at Kansas Speedway (7:30 p.m. ET on FS1), claiming his first career pole by a mere 0.009 seconds over Joey Logano.

During a Friday qualifying session in which 11 cars failed to make it to the grid because of inspection issues, Blaney toured the 1.5-mile speedway in 28.481 seconds (189.600 mph) in the final round to earn the first Coors Light Pole Award for the No. 21 Woods Brothers Ford since Ricky Rudd earned the top starting spot at Talladega in April 2004. Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series teams are ready for action in the Go Bowling 400 at Kansas Speedway on Saturday night, May 13th.  Television coverage begins on FOX Sports 1 at 7 pm ET with radio coverage available on MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

The green flag waves around 7:30 pm for the 400.5 miles over 267 laps event. Stage 1 ends on lap 80 with Stage 2 ending on lap 160 and the last stage ends on the last lap. Continue reading →

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series teams are ready for action at Kansas Speedway in the Toyota Tundra 250 on Friday night, May 12th.  Television coverage begins at 8 pm ET on FOX Sports 1 with radio coverage on MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

The green flag waves at around 8:30 pm ET for 250.5 miles over 167 laps. Stage 1 ends on lap 40 with Stage 2 ending on lap 80 and the last stage on the last lap.

2016 Camping World Truck Series Sunoco Rookie of the Year Award winner, William Byron is the defending race winner.

Bold Move Propels McMurray to Runner-Up Finish

Race winner Ricky Stenhouse Jr. wasn’t the only driver who made a strong move on the final lap of Sunday’s GEICO 500 at Talladega Superspeedway.

After Stenhouse took the lead from Kyle Busch, thanks in part to a push from Jimmie Johnson, Jamie McMurray threaded the needle between Johnson’s Chevrolet and Busch’s Toyota to vault into second place.

McMurray held the spot, trailing Stenhouse to the finish line by 0.095 seconds and beating Busch to the stripe by 0.004 seconds. Continue reading →
