Contenders

Jeff Gordon – Has an absolute rocket of a race car this weekend and I do think he will win if he can stay up front and out of trouble.Problem is, I don’t see that happening. 

Brad Keselowski – Both Penske cars are on a roll when it comes to restrictor plate racing. Keselowski won at Talladega in the fall and Logano won the Daytona 500 this year. Just personally have a good feeling about Keselowski this weekend. Continue reading

Most NASCAR fans were not overly familiar with an 18-year-old kid from Byron, Michigan named Erik Jones before the 2015 NASCAR season, but they are now.

 

Although Jones did post three wins in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series last season and with a recent NASCAR XFINITY Series win at Texas Motor Speedway, I really can’t image that anybody would have seen the tremendous leap he has taken in becoming the potential face of Joe Gibbs Racing’s future

 

Which brings up a question in itself? What does Joe Gibbs Racing/JGR do with a young man as talented as Jones, when the team has four seats filled up with stars in the Sprint Cup Series? Continue reading

Kenseth Breaks 51-Race Drought with a Win at Rain-Soaked Bristol

In a race delayed and interrupted by rain, and ended in overtime, Matt Kenseth broke a drought of more than a year’s standing in Sunday’s Food City 500 in Support of Steve Byrnes at Bristol Motor Speedway.

In a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race that went 11 laps past its scheduled distance of 500 laps—making it the longest race in the history of the .533-mile short track—Kenseth crossed the finish line .287 seconds ahead of Jimmie Johnson, who recovered from several issues to claim the runner-up finish. JoeyLogano-  The Bristol winner in August and then went on to lead every lap yesterday in the NASCAR Xfinity series race making history. Logano wins if he and crew chief Todd Gordon can keep up with track conditions and execute on pit road. Continue reading
