Dover International Speedway extends SAFER barriers along backstretch, into turn three entrance; increases stall space on pit road

Dover International Speedway has completed two projects that extend SAFER barriers by almost 500 feet along the backstretch and into the entrance of turn three and expand the pit stalls along pit road by two feet each. The work comes before the Monster Mile’s latest NASCAR tripleheader weekend on May 13-15. New asphalt has also been added along the area behind pit road, from the entrance of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series garage down to the Start-Finish line. Continue reading

Ryan Partridge Cruises to NASCAR K&N West Victory Lane at Tucson

Ryan Partridge put an end to Todd Gilliland’s three race win streak in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West Saturday night at Arizona’s Tucson Speedway.

The 27-year-old from Rancho Cucamonga, California, held off a charging Gilliland on the Green-White-Checkered attempt to cruise to his second series victory after leading 127 laps.

In a similar fashion to his first career win at Colorado National Speedway last season, Partridge earned the Coors Light Pole Award earlier in the day before celebrating in the winner’s circle that night. Continue reading

Kyle Busch Breaks Jinx with Sprint Cup Win at Kansas

Kyle Busch finally overcame his gremlins at Kansas Speedway in a race that left Martin Truex Jr. overcome with frustration.

On Saturday night—in stark contrast to many of his earlier misadventures at the 1.5-mile track—Busch waited until after the Go Bowling 400 to destroy his No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota, a feat he accomplished during his celebratory burnout.

Busch took the lead for good on lap 231 of 267 after Truex, who led a race-high 172 laps, brought his car back to pit road on lap 215 because of a loose wheel, the result of a bolt that broke and prevented the tire from mounting properly during a green-flag stop three laps earlier. William Byron Gets First Truck Series Win in Wild Kansas Race

William Byron remembers watching NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races when he was six years old.

Now 18, Byron has a win in the series he watched as a child. But it took a strong truck and a stroke of good luck for Byron to win Friday night’s Toyota Tundra 250 and reach Victory Lane at Kansas Speedway for the first time in five series starts.

Driving the No. 9 Toyota for Kyle Busch Motorsports, Byron was third when frontrunner Johnny Sauter led Ben Rhodes into turn three on the last lap of overtime. Continue reading
