NASCAR XFINITY Series is preparing to race the Overton’s 200 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, on Saturday, July 15th at 4 pm ET. Coverage begins at 3:30 pm ET on NBC Sports Network PRN, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
Drivers are racing 211.6 miles over 200 laps with Stage 1 ending on lap 45, Stage 2 on lap 90 and the last stage ending on the last lap 200.
As Kyle Busch spun his No. 18 Toyota wildly during his celebratory burnout at Kentucky Speedway, the right rear tire exploded with an audible pop after it hit the drain below the apron.
It was an astute call by crew chief Eric Phillips that enabled Busch’s tires to survive long enough to win Saturday afternoon’s rain-delayed Alsco 300 NASCAR XFINITY Series race at the 1.5-mile track. Continue reading
The rookie drove like a veteran in Saturday’s Irish Hills 250 at Michigan International Speedway, but in the end, the veteran took the rookie to school.
Side-drafting off the final corner, Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series star Denny Hamlin pulled ahead of Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender William Byron and won a drag race to the finish line to win his first NASCAR XFINITY Series race of the season in the No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota. Kevin Harvick was between a rock and a hard place with three laps left in Saturday’s Hisense 4K TV 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, and Ryan Blaney took full advantage of the veteran driver’s conundrum.
Passing Harvick for the lead after a restart on lap 198 and 200, Blaney crossed the finish line 0.244 seconds ahead of the driver of the No. 41 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford. Continue reading
The XFINITY Series will be off the next two weekends as the teams regroup and will return to action on May 27th at Charlotte Motor Speedway for the Hisense 4K TV 300 (on FS1 at 1 p.m. ET).
