NASCAR Sprint Cup Series teams return this week to race 218.9 miles in 110 laps on the road course of Sonoma Raceway in the Toyota Save Mart 350 on Sunday, June 26th. FOX Sports 1 will begin their coverage at 1:30 pm ET with a green flag around 3 pm ET. Radio coverage is available on PRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, channel 90.

Throwback Thursday – Spencer Nips Irvan at the Line for First Cup Win

The first half of the 1994 Winston Cup season the black cars dominated.  Rusty Wallace, Dale Earnhardt and Ernie Irvan together had 11 wins in the season’s first 14 races.

Wallace was on a three-race winning streak heading into the Pepsi 400 at Daytona International Speedway.  The Missouri driver’s luck at the track has been short of disastrous. Continue reading

The NASCAR Winston Cup Series made a visit to a California road course every year from 1958 to 1988.

Drivers weaved left and right around Riverside International Raceway.  Greats such as Richard Petty, Bobby Allison, Darrell Waltrip and even road-course greats like Dan Gurney and Mark Donohue all won at the track. Continue reading
