Two weeks ago at Dover, Kyle Larson took a painful master class in restarts from Professor Jimmie Johnson.

In Sunday’s FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway, Larson graduated with high honors, using a series of exceptional restarts to win his second Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race of the season and his second in a row, dating to last August, at the two-mile track in the Irish Hills. Brad Keselowski Ends Drought for No. 22 Ford with Last-Lap pass

With a dramatic last-lap pass – the first of the season in the NASCAR XFINITY Series – Brad Keselowski won Saturday’s Pocono Green 250 at Pocono Raceway, ending a 46-race drought for the No. 22 Team Penske Ford.

Keselowski swept the stages in the 100-lap event but couldn’t get past leader Kyle Larson until he reached the Long Pond straightaway on the final circuit. Keselowski powered off the first turn, down-shifted and blew past Larson before the cars reached the tunnel turn. Continue reading

Erik Jones and his crew chief Chris Gabehart are the defending XFINITY Series winners at Dover this weekend. Teams will race 200 miles over 200 laps with Stage 1 ending on lap 60 and Stage 2 ending on lap 120. The last stage will end on the last lap 200.  Continue reading

Kevin Harvick was between a rock and a hard place with three laps left in Saturday’s Hisense 4K TV 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, and Ryan Blaney took full advantage of the veteran driver’s conundrum.

Passing Harvick for the lead after a restart on lap 198 and 200, Blaney crossed the finish line 0.244 seconds ahead of the driver of the No. 41 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford. Continue reading
